I'm Mateus Sampaio, a brazilian background artist, illustrator and designer who loves to play with bold colors and fun movement!
I'm from Ceará - Brasil and since 2020 i've worked as an illustrator, background artist, visual development artist and concept artist, mainly in the animation industry on TV series and movies but also on games, books, parks, etc.

Graduated in graphic design from Faculdade Estácio de Sá and currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in Motion Design at Anhanguera.

Responsible for creating both 2D and 3D thumbnail covers for Roblox games
(2024) VISUAL DEVELOPMENT ARTIST, Zonzo Studio.
Responsible for creating the concept art on "Operação Bila Cocão" for the film's key environments.
(2024 - 2025) BACKGROUND ARTIST, McDonalds + SuperTape TV.
Background artist responsible for both layout and painting of backgrounds to be used in McDonald's international training animation.
(2023 - 2024) BACKGROUND ARTIST, 52 Animation.
Responsible for creating both layouts and paintings on background for the tv series "Laughing Through Chaos in Pangea" (Bustus e Ranhossés).
(2025) BACKGROUND ARTIST, Narrativa Entretenimento.
Only background artist for an entire feature filme "Um Natal no Sertão", made approximately 300 backgrounds, layouts and painting.
(2024) CONCEPT ARTIST, Smurfs + MazeFX.
Responsible for creating concept art that were later adapted into 3D for the Smurfs park in São Paulo.
(2024) BACKGROUND DESIGNER, Split Studio.
Responsible for creating background layouts to be used on the tv show "WeeBoom" on HBO max.
(2022 - 2023) BACKGROUND ARTIST, Muirak Studio.
Responsible for creating both layouts and paintings on background for the feature film "O menino Toquinho".
